Password not being required in decrypting media

The encrypted USB is being used online

Resolution:
If the encrypted USB is being used offline, with no mepp installed, then it would require a password. On the other hand, when you are using a USB online that has automatic access enabled, then you will not be asked for a password.

Note: When investigating, see to it to check the configured access policy in the client’s environment.
